The Miss Earth United States Organization has partnered with World Missions Outreach as their national charity. Nine of the State & National titles holders are spending the week in Nicaragua to teach self-sustainability education & help assist in serving at several of our 70 feeding programs.
World Missions Outreach has 70 feeding programs located across Nicaragua. We provide 15,000 meals a day & 5.4 millions meals a day!

This is what a typical Nicaragua kitchen looks like. The smoke burns your eyes & the heat from the open fire underneath is unbearable. Volunteer's stands over this open fire with stinging eyes to ensure that the children in their community are able to eat every day. It is our dedicated leaders who make WMO possible! This dirt floor, bare-bones kitchen is where our team help served the children their meals!

Through stinging eyes and blazing hot fire they continuously worked to ensure that the children in this community were fed! It is our dedicated leaders & volunteers, like these two, who make WMO possible!
This is one of our WMO Pastors. Every day, she stands over the open fire through stinging eyes to ensure that the children in her community are able to eat every day. She never complains! It is our dedicated community leaders, like Mrs. Hernandez, who keep our daily operations at WMO possible!
This is what every day looks like for the children in these communities of Nicaragua. Running to the fridge or heating up leftovers is a luxury they do not have access too. Every day that wait in line till it is their turn to be served. Our Miss Earth US team stood on dirt floors with tin shack roofs to ensure that every child received their meals!

WMO ensures that the Children and volunteers have a community based & educational opportunity meet up everyday before the feeding program. At WMO, we provide more than just the physical needs of food.

We focus on education to solve the cycle of poverty & not just mask the symptoms. We can end childhood hunger by equipping children & adults with trade skill & agriculture education, thus ensuring that no child has to go to bed hungry.
Perspective.... This is the only roof that covers the heads of those who attend. Most Nicaraguan homes are constructed of scrap metal & consist of dirt floors. Even through the face of adversities, that many of us can't began to imagine, these children still show up with so much love to give & smiles that seem to never end.

The kids at this Managua WMO feeding program bring their buckets to get food! The food is cooked over an open fire and are extremely hot. Some of the kids walk a mile or more to get food! The buckets allow them to carry their food home to share with their families without it burning their hands. WMO provides 15,000 meals a day & 5.4 million meals a year. For Some children, this is the only meal they will eat all day!

These kids never miss a program. They arrive early & are always the last to leave! They are going to be the ones that changes the generational cycle of poverty for their family. They are already natural leaders that are eager to learn. I can not wait to see them both grow up. WMO will continue to help them help themselves along the way!
Many of our programs consist of young mothers who are trying to find a way to feed their children and gain access to resources to better themselves. At WMO, we provide more than just the physical needs of food. We focus on education to solve the cycle of poverty & not just mask the symptoms.
Older children tend to bring the younger children to the programs. Parents are often absent from the home during the day & the kids are responsible for taking care of one another

Tracey found the perfect way to connect with the children of Nicaragua with no words or translation needed. She showed up with some stickers, but didn't realize she was actually bringing a gift that represented much more than a material procession. The smallest 'things' can turn into the most powerful tools! She was able to inspire hope & open the door for mentor opportunities.
All it takes is for you to show up with the right attitude & willingness to serve! It doesn't have to be perfect or look perfect to jump in. This is a wonderful example of how the 'little' things become big things! All the little things add up to leaving a lasting impact that continue to develop and change a child's future. Thank you Tracey, for always showing up with the best attitude & never being scared to get your hands dirty! Your name & face will never be forgotten by any of the children at WMO.
Every Child at each program we visited received a book bag & school supplies! The Miss Earth Team handed out over 800 book bags!
This inner city Managua neighborhood is one of the roughest villages in Nicaragua. Despite their circumstances, they always show up full of love, excitement & contentment. The lesson's these children have taught me, make this program my very favorite! Little do they know, their faith and ability to have so much contentment with so little material things is what I strive to be more like. I am always humbled by the time we share together.
