WATER PROJECT

Water Project
There is a desperate need for clean drinking water in Nicaragua. Many families do not have access to good water at all, and some are forced to go long distances to haul the water back to their dwelling places.

World Missions Outreach wanted to make clean water available to the people in their neighborhood, so we dug a well 1,000 feet in the Mission compound. With the help of local families, we dug a trench approximately one mile in both directions from the Mission, then laid pipe and installed water faucets in all the communities along that stretch of road.

The men of the community were so excited about getting water to their houses that they eagerly agreed to help dig the ditch for the water line. In all, about thirty men of the community came together to dig the ditch for their water line. At times you would even see women and children helping. It took about three weeks to put in the two inch water line for three Kilometers (about two miles).

Once a week, the water is turned on and the people fill up all their buckets and barrels. Some of these people have NEVER had running water. They are very thankful for this clean drinking water that is now available at their houses.

Many of the people reached through this Water Project now attend church at the Mission.

You can help make a difference!
