Building Projects

Warehouse
We are in the process of building a very large warehouse (40' x 200') across the street from the Mission. This warehouse will be used for various purposes, but the immediate use will be to store food for the feeding programs. When we receive shipments from the United States, we need to store the vast quantity of food until it is distributed weekly to local churches.

The walls are made of a natural stone that has been cut to size. Each stone weighs 130 pounds! One of the Nicaraguan workers carried 40 of these stones on his back to the mason who was laying them into place -- and that was before lunch!

Two teams came down in early 2007 to work on the construction of the warehouse - one from Ontario, Canada, and the other from Roanoke, VA. The teams were able to put up all the trusses and assist with laying the block.

Photos of the warehouse construction were taken by World Mission Videos and
Oakridge Bible Chapel Adult Mission Team, Oakville, Ontario.

Medical Center
Another building project is our medical center. As soon as the warehouse is finished, the storage area in the Mission Compound will be converted to a medical center where we will have medical staff housed at the Mission.
